Joshua Jimenez has only been dancing for 6 years.  He first started his training at Independence High School. Josh was in the Cavalry Marching Band and Color Guard, and was also part of indepenDANCE co. During his time within the company he was later recognized for Best Choreography and Best Modern Dance Performer. Right after graduating high school in 2008 he was in his first professional dance show at California’s Great America titled Mixed Element, and from that point he continued actively performing in various dance shows till 2013. Josh furthered his education at San Jose State University.  During his 3.5 years of training with SJSU dance department Josh was heavily involved with the university’s professional dance company University Dance Theater (UDT). Because Josh wanted to better expand himself on the world of dance, he joined a hip-hop company from called Soul Con Dance Co. In 2011 he also started his own dance company, with co-director Corinne Leon, called Renegade Dance Co. Amongst all of his education, Joshua has also choreographed/back-up danced for local artists around the bay area, and was able to perform in the 2011 Senior Olympics. In 2014 Josh joined a contemporary group called Bliss Dance Co. where he was given the opportunity to choreograph and perform in the companies 10th anniversary show. Josh is truly thankful for all the opportunities to work with some of the greats within the industry such as Gary Masters, Mike Esperanza, Holly Johnston, and many others. He is truly passionate about dance and what new life it has given to him. Josh will always thank his sister Jessica Jimenez for bringing that great light to him, and truly inspiring him to be the best dancer and human being he could ever be.
